St. Stanislaus Post 1222 meets on the fourth Tuesday of September, October, November, January, February, March, April, and May. All Catholic veterans are eligible for membership. Prospective members should contact Andy Danus, the Membership Chairman at danus@cboss.com.

The post has been in existence for over 60 years. The Catholic War Veterans is a national organization whose primary objective is to make the nation accutely aware of the struggle and needs of our many veterans, their widows and children. We strive to instill in our young people a respect for the flag, our national anthem and traditions of our country.

Student Awards 2007
Third Vice Commander Philip Markovitz coordinated the essay contest in the area’s parochial schools. Deacon Michael Schlais of Cardinal Mooney High School judged the essays entered. This year’ s essay theme was “The energy crisis and what it means to me.”
Awards were presented to the following students:Top three awards, one hundred dollar savings bonds, went to Natalie from St. Charles, Sarah from St. Joseph and Corey from St. Nicholas.
Honorable mention, twenty dollar awards were given to Dina, Dayna and Libby from St. Charles and Beth from St. Joseph. Also awarded honorable mention were Max, Frank, George, Pat and Amy from St. Charles.
Scholarship awards from the Bernard Lakovich Scholarship Fund, were awarded to area high school sudents, Robert, Mark, Jessica and Terri from Cardinal Mooney and James from Ursuline.Post 1222 has awarded over $67,000 in awards to local students over fifty-one years. Debbie Verbosky, president of the ladies auxiliary congratulated all the students and presented awards to parish high school graduates Christopher and Lisa.
